PART I

a special lecture and lunch at
University of Pennsylvania
and City Hall
The James Joo-Jin Kim Program in Korean Studies at the University of Pennsylvania will give a special lecture to our selected and pre-registered students.
Then after lunch, students will go on a guided campus tour, followed by a trip to the City Hall to meet Councilman David Oh and other City of Philadelphia leaders.

First Korean Congress Centennial Commemoration March
All students who participated in the March 30th event will attend and volunteer during the First Korean Congress Centennial Commemoration March from the Plays and Players Theater to the Independence Mall.
This is a commemoration march to celebrate what occurred 100 years ago, to bring awareness about the Korean Independence Movement to the public.

Junior and Senior High School Education Program is for students both Korean American and non-Korean American. Students will learn about leadership skills through Korean American History, especially through Dr. Philip Jaisohn, a pioneer, educator and an activist and his life-long work for Korea and the first Korean Congress he convened in Philadelphia 100 years ago.
This unique opportunity will educate all participating youth through learning about the past to appreciate and celebrate the present and inspiring them for a united future as one community.
Please note that the Junior and Senior High School Education Program:
is for current 8th grade to 12th grade students only
is for both Korean American and non Korean American students
registrants must attend the events on both dates, 3/30 and 4/13
attendees will receive a certificate from the City Hall
will provide transportation from two pick up locations
has limited space so registration is required
